UNIVERSITY POLICE ARREST ROBBERY SUSPECT

On Sunday, August 17, 2008, at approximately 9:30 PM, University of Alabama Police were notified of robberies from three UA students. Two female UA students reported that they were approached by a male while walking on Colonial Drive near Harris Hall.  The male subject armed with a pistol took property from one of the females. Shortly thereafter, a male UA student reported that he was approached by an armed subject while he was walking on the Quad near the intersection of Colonial Drive and University Boulevard.  The student had property taken from him.  None of the students were injured.

University of Alabama Police responded and apprehended Deremi Rashawn Prince a short distance from the reported robberies. UAPD investigators charged Prince on three counts of Robbery I. He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $300,000 bond.
